Owner of two master degrees in geology and petroleum geosciences, Nicolas Pelissier performed his first part of career in the Oil & Gas industry within Total major. He was notably in charge of geological operations supervision with a track record of more than 60 exploration & development wells drilled, 11 projects, in 8 countries in Europe (UK, Norway, Netherlands), MENA (Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Mauritania) and Sub-Saharan Africa (Angola). Back in Total headquarter in France in 2015, He joined Exploration Intelligence department where he was carrying out Group exploration strategy and ensuring monitoring & follow-up of competitors' activity.
In 2017, Nicolas made the commitment to use his skills for strongly furthering sustainable development. He then cofound and still manage 45-8 ENERGY, a start-up dedicated to the exploration and production of strategic industrial gases which are essential to the ecological transition and New Tech, such as helium and natural hydrogen. 45-8 ENERGY is currently active in Europe where multiple subsurface investigations are being carried out. Convinced of innovation importance for the emergence of this new sector, Nicolas strongly supported over the last 3 years the development of active and collaborative R&D approaches to overpass technological challenges and strengthen the company competitiveness.
Very active in French innovation and entrepreneurship networks, Nicolas is currently a Supervisory Board member of Materalia, a competitiveness cluster dedicated to energy, materials and processes and a Board member of French Teach East, organization carrying out the start-up ecosystem of “Grand Est” region in France.
