Dr. Kayad Moussa was appointed as General Manager for the new office created in 2014 denominated “Office Djiboutien de Developpement de l’Energie Géothermique”, (ODDEG), since 2016. The main mission was to speed up the process of geothermal energy in Republic of Djibouti by: Hiring the necessary skills, develop a strategy and an action plan, mobilizing the necessary fund to explore this energy with international financing partners, propose a strategy to reduce the cost of the drilling exploration … ect… He set up and manage under his function, as a Director of the project, more than 10 projects in geothermal exploration (Surfaces studies up to drilling) in different sites in holes countries. Since 2014, Kayad Moussa has been the National Coordinator for the Assal Geothermal Project in Djibouti. The objective of the project is to drill and test four deep (2.5 km) wells for geothermal resource exploration in the Fialé Caldera area. Dr. Kayad Moussa has participated in various geothermal conferences and published and presented papers and reports in both English and French. From 2010 to 2013 he worked on the European project known as “GEISER” (Geothermal Engineering Mitigation of Induced Seismicity in Reservoirs).
